In a letter addressed to NCERT, Palshikar and Yadav criticized the rationalization process, stating that it had significantly distorted and rendered the books academically dysfunctional.
Criticising the NCERT's recent decision to make alterations to certain chapters in the school textbooks, Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty on Saturday said "the state will consider bringing out supplementary textbooks to counter the changes".
The education department has ordered 4.1 crore textbooks, of which 3.8 crore have already been printed and delivered. This means that 91 per cent of the textbooks have been printed and delivered to the designated centres.
