Tata Power has announced that the Government of Gujarat has approved a supplementary Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to revive operations at its 4-gigawatt Mundra thermal power plant, operated by its subsidiary Coastal Gujarat Power.
The company invested an initial Rs 50 crore, to acquire 50,00,000 equity shares, which represents 40% of DHPL’s issued capital. The total planned investment for the full acquisition of the project is approximately Rs 1,572 crore.
The centers trained 354 government ITI electrician students from five districts in the previous year, while over 440 students have undertaken various training and awareness sessions in the current financial year.
A key highlight of this project is the strategic unbundling of the scope into multiple packages, all of which were executed directly by TPREL.
The acquisition, valued at Rs 2.42 crore, was completed on January 9, 2026, following the execution of a share purchase agreement, as disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company's reported expenses at Rs 14,249 crore in the reported quarter, which is lesser than Rs 14,254 crore incurred in the year-ago period.
