Several major departments in the newly formed Tamil Nadu government are yet to be assigned ministers, adding to expectations of an imminent cabinet expansion as the Vijay-led administration settles into office.

Setting aside the Madras High court order cancelling the bail, earlier granted to 'Sattai' Durai Murugan on November 2021, a bench observed that he could not be said to have misused the liberty granted to him.
"If this is about environmental concerns, why cannot the NGT (National Green Tribunal) hear it? Why should everything come directly to the Supreme Court," the bench asked.
