West Bengal recorded 60 fresh Covid-19 cases, including a seven-month-old baby during the last 24 hours indicating a sharp rise in the number of patients affected by the deadly viral disease.
According to the guidelines, patients with mild ailments would have to stay at home isolations for maximum seven days soon after they are tested positive. They won’t require for further tests if they have no fever for three days successively during the week-long isolation period.
BMC had earlier announced that all the travellers deboarding at the BPIA, except those in transit, have to undergo RT-PCR test for Covid-19 at the testing facility at the airport.
It is anticipated that even with administration of effective authorized vaccines, breakthrough cases are expected to happen, till the immunity reaches sufficient levels among the population to further decrease transmission.
The collaborative study conducted jointly by CSIR institutions of Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) revealed a conservative estimate of the number of active cases shedding the virus may be around 2.6 lakh.
