Chief Justice N.V. Ramana on Friday termed the pendency of cases a huge challenge and expressed regret on not giving required attention to issues with listing of cases and schedule of hearing of matters.
The suspension had come after Arora had called an emergent general meeting (EGM) of the lawyers' body on May 11 to deliberate on agenda for removing Dave from the post of SCBA President.
Justice Chandrachud said that it was decided that the top court will make vaccines available for inoculation of lawyers.
He reiterated that the Opposition has the right to protest as long as peaceful means are adopted.
A proposal is currently under consideration for the introduction of Artificial Intelligence to aid the justice delivery system. A reclassification of crimes for trial of offences under the social welfare code, correctional code, economic and other white collar crimes, criminal code, organised crime and terrorism, also needs to be considered. In the given situation it can be safely summarised that merely raising the strength of the judicial officers may not be enough for quick delivery of justice to the common man as the system calls for changes in judicial as well as criminal code and police procedures.
'The government should provide compensation to the lawyers who were injured in the Tis Hazari Court, and the money should be deducted from the salaries of the police personnel involved', President of Supreme Court Bar Association said.
Justice Dipak Misra served as the 45th Chief Justice of India, from August 28, 2017, to October 2, 2018.
"To criticise, attack and destroy a system is quite easy (but) very difficult and challenging to transform it into a performing one. For this one has to transcend one's personal ambitions or grievances", the Chief Justice said.
