The centers trained 354 government ITI electrician students from five districts in the previous year, while over 440 students have undertaken various training and awareness sessions in the current financial year.
Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 during a session titled ‘Employability in the AI Age: Preparing for the Jobs of Tomorrow’, Nageswaran underlined that India must act with clear intent to ensure AI strengthens, rather than disrupts, the country’s growth and social fabric.
The Chief Minister said the budget reinforces the idea that development is not limited to large cities alone, but encompasses villages, farmers, women, youth and workers. Economic strength, he added, has been aligned with social security, dignity and opportunity for every citizen.
He said the budget will strengthen India's status in the world and place Rajasthan in the mainstream of national development.
This state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for LEAP engines is a significant milestone in India's aviation sector, marking the first time a global engine OEM has set up an MRO operation in the country.
The chief minister said the institute will open doors for young people who have had little access to aviation training.
"This marks the first time India is participating in the World Skills Asia platform, making the event a significant milestone for the country’s global skills journey," the ministry said.
The state government has planned to set up a silk hub in Serampore. At an administrative meeting in Tarakeswar, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the establishment of the hub in Hooghly district to create a major centre for silk export and skill development for craftsmen.
Attending the inaugural ceremony, Binita Senapati, Joint Director, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, encouraged the students to acquire practical skills and highlighted the importance of vocational education.
