The Supreme Court of India is set to hear a batch of petitions on Thursday (today), challenging the constitutionality of certain provisions in the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991.

However, resisting relocation, Harijan Panchayat Committee members claimed attempts were made to evict Sikh residents of Harijan Colony by roping in the local tribal chieftain in 1954 too.
“I share an excellent bonding with the brothers and sisters of the Sikh community. Even members of my family are regular visitors here. “I have already extended my support to the farmer's movement. We (TMC) have already demanded that these three farm laws be withdrawn. We won’t tolerate any injustice on farmers,”
'It is not a small case. We cannot grant bail,' the court said.
Around 150 people were reportedly worshipping in the gurdwara at the time of the attack.
