In a major effort to curb organized and street crime, Delhi Police conducted a special drive in Rohini District from March 1 to March 31. The operation resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of illegal items, police said on Tuesday.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi R Alice Vaz said on Friday that seizures totaling Rs 194 crore have been reported so far in the run-up to the assembly elections in the national capital, scheduled to be held in single phase on February 5.
State election commission said both the police and the Excise Department seized 10,358 liters of illicit liquor amounting to Rs 14.12 lakh.
The poll panel also informed that Rs 100 crore seizure was made each day by the enforcement agencies since 1st March.
This is 433 per cent more than the seizures made during the entire MCC period in the 2018 Assembly elections which stood at Rs 70 crore in 65 days.
