Delhi High Court has dismissed Sameer Wankhede’s plea against Shah Rukh Khan’s Netflix series 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood', saying it cannot hear the case. Wankhede had claimed certain scenes defamed him, but the court noted the matter should be filed in Mumbai.
IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against Aryan Khan’s web series 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood'. Red Chillies Entertainment told the Delhi High Court the show is satire and fiction, not based on real events.
They claim the officer, if he wins later, can seek financial compensation. But censoring the content now would harm artistic rights and set a worrying example for creative industries.
Wankhede noted that his family, who are not connected to his professional work, have been unfairly affected.
Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Wankhede, argued that the series was “deliberately conceptualised and executed” to malign Wankhede’s reputation.
The series, directed by Shah Rukh’s son Aryan Khan and streamed on Netflix, allegedly shows content that Wankhede calls “false, malicious, and defamatory."
The controversy began after Netflix dropped Aryan Khan’s directorial project, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. The show features a character who resembles a drug enforcement officer.

In addition to Wankhede, three other NCB officers have been summoned for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
