The NCB had charged Chakraborty under the stringent Section 27-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act that pertains to “financing and harbouring illegal drug trafficking”.
On late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's birth anniversary on Saturday, actor and his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested in connection with a drug case in the wake of his death, wished him with an adorable post.
"High time for clean up to happen.Very welcome! Will help our young/future generations. Start from here, surely, proceed to all sectors. Uproot it from its core. Punish the Guilty, users, the dealers/suppliers. The profiting Big Guys on the take, who give it a blind eye and ruin people," she wrote on Twitter.
"Sushant's life and works are invariably imbued with a sense of remarkable hardwork and discipline, which I believe will inspire many to work towards their dreams without the doubt and fear of failure," said director Nikhil Anand, who is working on Sushant's biopic.
NCB countering her bail application argued that if released on bail, the actor 'may tamper with the evidence and also try to win over witnesses using her position in the society and money power.
During the hearing, she said her life is at risk in judicial custody and she has received rape and death threats and that three investigations have taken a severe toll on her mental health and well-being.
