The breakdown disrupted communication networks, causing major inconvenience to the public and posing serious challenges to relief and emergency response.
These areas were severely impacted by intense cloudbursts and landslides caused by torrential rainfall in recent days.
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing restoration work of the iconic Gole Market and also unveiled an Elephant family sculpture at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital roundabout in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area.
During the inspection on Friday, Saxena expressed satisfaction at the pace and status of the rejuvenation work of the monument and the complex that started after his first visit to the location in January this year.
Ashwini Vaishnaw while speaking to ANI said that the target is to finish the restoration work by Wednesday morning.
CPRO of South Eastern Railway, said, "The capsized bogies have been removed and the work of connecting the track is going on from one side".
"We will conduct a detailed investigation to reach out the root cause behind the accident and we will take necessary steps to ensure that such an accident will not reoccur in future," Vaishnaw said.
