Preliminary investigation suggests the accused were linked to foreign-based smugglers who allegedly supplied heroin and illegal firearms for distribution among criminal networks in Punjab and beyond.
The investigation began during Operation Hardball, a joint anti-gang crackdown by the FBI and Canadian authorities, which uncovered alleged links between a serving Punjab Police officer and overseas gang networks.
