Reaffirming the Punjab Government's commitment to giving every child the best possible start in life, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said on Monday that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Mission Aarambh is transforming early childhood education by bringing parents and Anganwadi Workers closer through digital platforms.
As part of its anti-corruption campaign and the Punjab government's zero-tolerance policy, the Vigilance Bureau registered 1,055 cases and arrested 1,111 accused between March 16, 2022, and May 31, 2026.
The Punjab Cabinet has approved an ordinance that would require private schools to seek approval before increasing fees beyond 5% annually. The proposal also includes refund provisions for excessive fee hikes over the past three years.
