President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday presented India's second-highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan, to Justice (Retd.) Jagdish Singh Khehar, the former Chief Justice of India, for his contribution to the field of Public Affairs.
The Gallantry awards were given to the personnel for displaying raw courage, unparalleled bravery, and total disregard to personal safety in the line of duty.
Born on May 18, 1951 in Kithana village of Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, Dhankhar was sworn in as the country's 14th Vice President on August 11, 2022.
