President Droupadi Murmu said on Thursday that in today's world, marked by conflicts and geopolitical tensions, self-reliance has become a strategic necessity for nations.
President Murmu was addressing a group of Officer Trainees of Military Engineer Services (MES), 2023 and 2024 batches, who called on her at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President was addressing a state-level yoga event at the Garrison Ground at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday extended greetings and best wishes to President Droupadi Murmu on her 68th birthday.
The President, who arrived at the airport here on a special flight from Delhi, was received by Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others.
“Tribal traditions remind us that development must be in harmony with nature,” she said while addressing the national conclave on the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ in New Delhi on Friday.

The MY Bharat-NSS programmes aim to develop the personality and character of students through voluntary community service.
