As India moves towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, institutions like Nalanda University will play a vital role, said President Droupadi Murmu while addressing the convocation ceremony of Nalanda University at Rajgir, Bihar, on Tuesday.
He remarked that India’s democratic traditions have long been admired for maintaining dignity and civility even in the face of political differences, and warned that any departure from these norms undermines the spirit of constitutional institutions.
‘’Awareness about water management and conservation among the younger generation will ensure the country's water security in future,’’ she said at a function on the occasion of ‘’Jal Mahotsav 2026’’ here. She expressed confidence that the ‘Jal Mahotsav’ will become a medium of mass movement for India's water security.
She was talking to a group of officer trainees of the 79th batch of Indian Revenue Service (IT) which called on her at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President, who arrived at the airport here on a special flight from Delhi, was received by Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others.
“Tribal traditions remind us that development must be in harmony with nature,” she said while addressing the national conclave on the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ in New Delhi on Friday.
