As India moves towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, institutions like Nalanda University will play a vital role, said President Droupadi Murmu while addressing the convocation ceremony of Nalanda University at Rajgir, Bihar, on Tuesday.
He remarked that India’s democratic traditions have long been admired for maintaining dignity and civility even in the face of political differences, and warned that any departure from these norms undermines the spirit of constitutional institutions.
‘’Awareness about water management and conservation among the younger generation will ensure the country's water security in future,’’ she said at a function on the occasion of ‘’Jal Mahotsav 2026’’ here. She expressed confidence that the ‘Jal Mahotsav’ will become a medium of mass movement for India's water security.
She was talking to a group of officer trainees of the 79th batch of Indian Revenue Service (IT) which called on her at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The function will be held at Bharat Mandapam at 10.00 am.
According to officials here on Thursday, the President will reach Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow in the morning and will directly go to the Brahma Kumaris' programme at around noon.
Calling Operation Sindoor a watershed moment in India’s counter-terror and deterrence strategy, President Droupadi Murmu, on Thursday, said that it made the world take note not only of India's military capability but also of India's moral clarity to act firmly yet responsibly in the pursuit of peace.
President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday advised revenue service officers to create systems that are transparent, accountable, and technology-driven, underlining that integrity and fairness must remain the cornerstone of their professional conduct.
She said that the spirit of putting the “Nation First” would ensure that India becomes a developed nation by 2047, on the centenary of India’s independence.
