The retail sales for passenger vehicles posted a 5.8 per cent spike to 2,99,369 units in September driven by the GST 2.0 reforms and Navratri festivities.
However, the company sold 5,228 electric vehicles (EVs) in June 2025, which is a growth of 12.26% over 4,657 units a year earlier.
Currently, India exports around 14.6% of the PVs produced here and 16.34% of two- wheelers manufactured between January and November.
In October, amid the festival season, sales of passenger vehicles stabilized and saw a flat 0.9% rise, while the two-wheeler segment witnessed over 14% jump.
The data furnished by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) does not include sales figures from some key players such as Tata Motors.
The demand for three-wheelers is yet to revive and sales in December plunged nearly 59 per cent to 22,126 units, showed the SIAM data.
Wholesale volumes for tractors are expected to grow. The volume is expected to zoom by 38.4 per cent YoY on robust demand and lower base.
