Public sector power major NHPC has signed an MoU with Gujarat Power Corporation Limited for an investment of Rs 4,000 crore in the proposed 750 MW Kuppa Pumped Hydro Storage Project situated at Chhota Udaipur in the state
Though the West Bengal government announced a “package” of Rs 25 crore for rehabilitation of those affected by the flood, sources in the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) have confirmed that the Rs 25 crore fund was nothing but a part of development fund that the semi-autonomous body is entitled to.
India's largest hydropower development company NHPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) for the development of pumped storage projects and renewable energy.
Director of the Ministry of Energy, Harikesh Meena signed the agreement on behalf of the state government while NHPC General Manager (Power) Suresh Kumar and Secretary of BBMB Satish Kumar Singla were the signatory on behalf of their respective enterprises.
After the signing of MoU, theChief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that India will go Carbon neutral by 2070 and by 2030 India will generate 500 GW from non-fossil fuel sources which will be 50 per cent of total installed capacity. This initiative of the state government with cooperation of NHPC will be a big milestone in this regard.
This would be the country's first big floating solar power project installed on water reservoirs. The NHPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Promoters Agreement with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd (GEDCOL) to install the power project.
The final dividend was decided in a meeting of the Board of Directors on June 21 where it was decided to pay Rs 0.35 per equity share.
