As per the data, of the total 19.37 lakh employees added, 9.58 lakh workers, which is around 49.5%, belonged to the age group of up to 25 years, highlighting the growing participation of young people in the formal workforce.
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) added around 9.30 lakh new members in August 2024, representing a 0.48% increase in new members compared to August 2023.
With just two left for the completion of the first phase of membership drive, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) has already claimed to have enrol over10 million new members .
An increase of 31.29% has been registered in net member addition during April 2024 compared to March 2024.
Interestingly, a total 71 transgender employees have also got registered under ESI Scheme in the month of June, 2023.
