Liston Colaco and Jason Cummings scored once in each half as Mohun Bagan Super Giant became the Indian Super League (ISL) Champions by defeating Mumbai City FC by 2-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Monday night.
Mumbai City FC extended their winning run in the Kalinga Super Cup to two matches in a row when they edged past Punjab FC 3-2 in their Group C encounter at the Kalinga Stadium on Tuesday.
The League Shield Winners concluded the league stage with two back-to-back defeats, including one against Bengaluru FC, and will look to end the visitors’ nine-game winning streak to carry an advantage to the second leg on Sunday.
There will be no margin for error as the winners will set up a clash with Mumbai City FC while the season ends immediately for the losing team.
Mumbai City FC extended their unbeaten streak in the Indian Super League (ISL) to a record-breaking 16 games after an extraordinary comeback victory over Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The big margin of the victory was helpful for the second-placed Mumbai City in equalling top-ranked ATK Mohun Bagan's goal difference.
The result kept Mumbai City FC at the top of the table with 30 points from 13 matches. Chennai are at fifth with 16 points from 14 games.
Mumbai created a string of chances in the first half but managed to score only one through a header from Mourtada Fall in the 27th minute.
Mumbai moved to the top of the ISL with 22 points after the win at the Fatorda Stadium. Bengaluru, on the other hand, remained fifth with 12 points.
