Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Monday took custody of Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji from the Puzhal prison in a money laundering case after a court granted custody to the agency following the dismissal of related petitions by the Supreme Court. The Madurai bench of the Madras high court represented by Justices M Duraiswamy and K Murali Shankar directed the state government to file a counter affidavit by September 30.
The court also warned veterinarians of severe action like contempt of court and departmental action if they issue false certificates.
The court on its part on Wednesday ordered, Council and IRDAI as necessary parties to this case, in addition to making the Additional Chief Secretary, Transport Department, Chennai, and the Joint Transport Commissioner (R), Chennai as Respondents.
