“Worker's health is non-negotiable,” Mishra added, directing officers to ensure regular health check-ups and the provision of primary medical facilities at all construction sites. He emphasised that health and safety are not optional measures but fundamental rights of every worker.
He informed that all departments have been instructed to ensure that the foundation and inauguration of all key schemes are completed by August 31 so that the public can directly benefit from these initiatives.
The two-day conference will discuss labour welfare issues and framing of rules under the recently enacted Labour Codes for their implementation.
Labour Bureau, an attached office of Ministry of Labour and Employment has been collecting and disseminating information on various facets of labour like wages, earnings, productivity, absenteeism, labour turnover, industrial relations, working and living conditions and evaluation of working of various labour enactments etc.
The information disseminated by the Labour Bureau plays an important role in advising the Government for formulation and implementation of employment policies and procedures in the country.
