The NPG evaluated five projects consisting of two Road/Highway projects of MoRTH, two Rail projects and one Metro Rail Project of MoHUA for their conformity to the PM GatiShakti principles of integrated multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity to economic and social nodes and ‘Whole of Government’ approach.
The 97th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Pankaj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to assess major infrastructure proposals from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and the Ministry of Railways (MoR).
The NPG evaluated all five projects from the perspective of the principles of PM GatiShakti: integrated development of multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity to economic and social nodes, intermodal connectivity, and synchronized implementation of projects.
