Referring to reports of ACB questioning of former excise commissioners Amit Kumar, Karn Satyarthi and Faiz Ahmed, Marandi said their statements indicated serious irregularities and abuse of authority.
Marandi termed the last six years “an era of decline,” alleging that none of the seven guarantees announced by the INDIA bloc during the Assembly elections moved forward “even by a step.”
Sahu described the comment as “deeply hurtful, unacceptable, and disrespectful to hardworking traders who have long contributed to society, particularly during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Addressing a campaign rally in Ghatshila ahead of the Assembly bypoll, BJP state president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi condemned the Hemant Soren government for what he described as “reckless and insensitive” governance.
The controversy centres around a Tazia structure said to have been established over three weeks ago on the raiyati (private) land of Rupesh Kumar Singh in Baraik Mohalla, Gumla.
Singh stressed that India’s path to self-reliance lies in strengthening swadeshi products and local enterprise.
The delegation included working president Ravindra Kumar Rai, state secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Prasad Sahu, vice-president Rakesh Prasad, Ranchi MLA C.P. Singh, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, and other senior leaders.
Those present at the meeting included former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, former Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, former MP Sunil Soren and party spokespersons Amit Mandal and Anita Soren.
