Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, state ministers, MLAs and party leaders and workers under the “Chalo Delhi’’ movement, held the demonstration at the Jantar Mantar and demanded a judicious share of resources and funds for the state.
The ‘Save Democracy’ campaign was organised at Jantar Mantar as part of the nationwide protest called by the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) over the suspension of parliamentarians.
At a demonstration held at Jantar Mantar here under the leadership of its Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva, members of the saffron party accused Banerjee, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other leaders from the Opposition of violating the dignity of the Parliament.
On Sunday Delhi Police detained several wrestlers including Olympic medalists as well as dozens of their supporters. The wrestlers attempted to march to India’s new parliament as it was being inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but they were stopped by hundreds of police personnel.
Punia said, "Many people are very cooperative with us but there are few police officials who are misbehaving with us, they are not allowing our family members to go inside."
