In the aftermath of the violence during the 'Nabanna Abhijan' rally in Kolkata, Union Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of "surpassing all boundaries of cruelty and dictatorship" in the state.
The programme, named 'Sneh Milan', was the Prime Minister's first interaction with the party staffers after he assumed office for the third time.
BJP President J.P. Nadda will preside over the State Executive meeting of the party in Lucknow on Sunday, a party spokesman said.
Meena made the remarks after meeting BJP National President J.P. Nadda in the national capital on Friday.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, BJP national secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva were also present on the occasion.
On Maha Shivratri, devotees perform abhishekam at Shiva temples with milk and water, pray and observe fast.
"The first budget of 'Amrit Kaal' reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his visionary leadership," said the BJP chief.
The meeting, party sources say, has been called to discuss the strategy and preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well as the 2023 assembly elections in several states.
Nadda was accorded a grand reception by the hundreds of BJP leaders and workers at the airport and on his way to the state guest house.
A senior BJP leader on Saturday said that Nadda during his two-day tour on August 28-29, would hold more than half-a-dozen meetings.
