The Union Cabinet Thursday approved a Central Sector Scheme titled "Grant in aid to National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)" with an outlay of Rs 2,000 crore, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
The release further said that the existing mechanism for grant of coal linkage to Central Sector Thermal Power Projects including Joint Ventures and their subsidiary will continue.
This funding aims to strengthen the infrastructure and enhance human resource development, research and skill-building initiatives in universities and colleges across Odisha. It also seeks to promote employable education for students, said the Minister.
The States which received the funds are Andhra Pradesh (Rs 136 crore), Chhattisgarh (Rs 109 crore), Maharashtra (Rs 799 crore), and Uttar Pradesh (Rs 720 crore), a statement from the ministry said on Wednesday evening.
