In a landmark judgment, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has struck down Section 163-A of the Himachal Pradesh Land Revenue Act, 1954 that allows the regularisation of encroached government land.
Based on the complaint, State Crime Branch (Gurugram Unit) had arrested three accused — Rohit Thakran on 18 January 2021, and advocate Chaman Lal Arora and advocate Subhash Chand Arora (on January 21, 2021), witness to the sale deed registration.
"We were not given any prior notice for the evection, and they came all of a sudden today and started demolishing the houses, despite the fact that we produced land ownership documents," said the locals.
