Addressing the state-level Good Governance Day function in Panchkula held on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the occasion is a reminder of the government’s moral and constitutional responsibility towards every citizen.
Good Governance Day is observed on December 25 each year in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow.
Banerjee had served as the railway minister in Vajpayee-led cabinet.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh and family members of Vajpayee also offered flowers at the lotus-shaped memorial.
