The PM was talking to a visiting delegation of Foreign Ministers of Arab countries, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Heads of Arab delegations, who are in India for the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
According to reports, countries that will be part of the 'Peace Board' may be asked to contribute USD 1 billion for their membership.
"Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the continued momentum in India-Israel Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit," the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
The two sides also reaffirmed their shared ambition to conclude negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement by the end of this year and to accelerate negotiations on the Investment Protection Agreement and the Agreement on Geographical Indications.
Lauding the US President's efforts, Modi said, "We support President Trump’s sincere efforts to bring peace to the region."
The plan includes the release of hostages and enhanced humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
"Spoke to my friend, President Trump and congratulated him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan. Also reviewed the good progress achieved in trade negotiations. Agreed to stay in close touch over the coming weeks," PM Modi said on X.
Trump said that if Hamas rejects the deal, he will allow Israel to "do what they have to do, and they could do it pretty easily".
The Gaza peace plan was announced after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
