On Monday, the England’s star captain Eoin Morgan, who helped England win the title of ICC mens world cup in 2019 for the first time has taken retirement from all the forms of cricket with immidate effect.
At Southampton, against England, despite not having many stars in their batting line-up, India put up 198/8, with every batter hitting the ball hard and sending them to boundary rope from the word go.
Eoin Morgan, who played a Test match in February 2012 against Pakistan at Dubai, has backed Stokes to take the role of captaining England in the longest format of the game.
Buttler revealed that after the semifinal loss, Morgan had urged the players in the dressing room to use the loss as a motivation to get better in future.
Morgan said that when the tournament was halted in May due to Covid-19 breaching the bio-bubble, coach McCullum had spoken about altering the game plan and that the side was implementing the approach at the re-start in Dubai.
"It is disappointing [to lose]. Played some good cricket for most part of the game. We looked comfortable in the chase. But they are a strong team, came back well and sad that it didn't work out for us."
The left-handed batsman has also been a towering leader for England in the ODI format, leading them to the 2019 World Cup win at home.
England missed the services of Mark Wood, who took 1/20 in his four overs in the first T20I on Friday. Wood is out injured and may not play the next game too.
