In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for conserving fuel and turning energy conservation into a mass movement amid the current global scenario, the Delhi government has decided to limit the use of official vehicles for departmental work.
President Murmu presented the National Energy Conservation Awards 2025 and National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation prizes on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day.
The Airport, managed by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), received the prestigious National Award for Excellence in Energy Management by CII-Green Business Centre (GBC) and National Energy Leader Award for the year 2021 for its consistent performance at the highest level in the last four years (from 2018 to 2021).
More research is warranted towards measuring the rebound effect in India to ensure that energy efficiency fulfills its goal of achieving more with less energy. Achieving SDG-7 of access to clean and affordable energy will be difficult if we only focus on increasing energy production rather than the proper transmission and distribution and ensuring behavioral changes to save energy at the end-user level.
