The latest fatality was identified as Algu Choudhary (70), who was admitted to Aurobindo Hospital on January 9 after suffering from severe vomiting and diarrhoea. He later developed respiratory complications and passed away during treatment.
"The BJP's negligent administration and its callous leadership are entirely responsible for the murder of this right," Gandhi stated in a post on X, referring to the supply of sewage-mixed water to residents of Bhagirathpura.
Public spaces such as Tehsils, police stations, hospitals, and Anganwadi centres will be equipped with drinking water facilities.
As this Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir faces scarcity of drinking water due to a prolonged dry spell, the government has announced free water supply in the affected areas through mobile tankers here.
