The NIA was issued soon after the Union Cabinet gave its nod to the department's proposal to conduct the 5G spectrum auction.

However, as per telco’s self-assessment, its total dues to the government stand at Rs 13,004 crore. The telco has already paid Rs 18,004 crore.
The NCLT earlier this week had directed the DoT to file their submission of objection by Friday.
The company had earlier deposited Rs. 6,854 crores in three tranches, the telco said in a BSE filing.
The move aims to push DoT to minimise Indian companies’ reliance on Chinese or any other foreign equipments.
The Supreme Court is set to heart the AGR matter in the third week of July, in which the troubled telco seeks to pay its dies over a patriot of 20 years.
It seems that the court could ask for some upfront payment to allow staggered payment of the remaining AGR dues.
