In a major step towards promoting clean, sustainable, and efficient urban mobility, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will launch an integrated hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Delhi’s Central Vista area starting Friday.
In a significant step towards advancing integrated urban mobility, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has partnered with Airtel Payments Bank to launch co-branded RuPay ‘On-The-Go’ Cards, enabled with NCMC (National Common Mobility Cards).
The proposal for the project has been submitted to the Public Works Department (PWD) for necessary approvals.
Delhi Metro services on Blue Line will be briefly regulated on Sunday morning to facilitate planned maintenance work, a DMRC spokesperson said on Friday
"The increase has been minimal, ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 4, depending on the distance of travel," a DMRC spokesperson said.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recorded a remarkable decline in Overhead Equipment (OHE) trippings caused primarily by kite flying during Independence Day when kite flying is at its peak as well as on Janmashtami which fell on the very next day.
"To facilitate the special guests, invitees, and general public to attend the Independence Day ceremony on Friday, 15th August 2025, the Delhi Metro will commence its services at 4:00 AM on all its Lines from all terminal stations," a DMRC spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Citing rising college fees and inflation, ASAP said metro travel had become an unbearable burden for students.
"DMRC achieves highest-ever passenger journeys on August 8, 2025, with 81,87,674 journeys across all lines. To meet Raksha Bandhan travel demand, DMRC ran 92 additional trips on 8th August and operating 455 extra trips on 9th August for passenger convenience," the DMRC official said.
