Success of Digital India hope for poor and developing countries: Commonwealth Secretary-General

She further said, “If you look at our poorer countries, our smaller, our developing countries, many of them look to the developed nations and they fear that they cannot aspire to do or replicate what the developed countries have done because of the cost. But when they look at India and fact that India is developing these things at scale and at a cost which looks accessible to so many. That brings hope.”

E-learning has the potential to be a harbinger of social change in India. With more than 400 million Internet users and more than 330 million connected smartphone users, and being the world's second social site user, India has immense opportunities to grow and tap the potential of technology in the field of education. There is an increasing realisation that initiatives like Digital India will have a major role to play in shaping elearning.

IT Ministry along with Google to ‘Build for Digital India’

The programme will invite ideas from students to focus on areas of healthcare, agriculture, education, smart cities and infrastructure, women safety, smart mobility and transportation, environment, accessibility and disability and digital literacy.
