The high court had dismissed a public interest plea relating to the exchange of Rs. 2000 denomination currency notes without any requisition slip and identity proof of the person seeking the exchange.
The plea had called the decision arbitrary, and irrational and offends Article 14 of the Constitution of India, hence, inoperative.
While dismissing the plea, the bench observed that there is no fundamental or vested legal right to be assessed by the faceless assessment.
