Mr Bista met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, and followed it up with meetings with Union home minister Amit Shah and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the past two days.
"I requested that the Forest Rights Act (FRA) Act should be fully implemented as per the law in the areas impacted for the construction of Sevoke Rangpo railway line and the Railways must ensure proper compensation and rehabilitation plan for the affected families/villages," Mr Bista said.

While a letter the Union Home Ministry earlier issued for the talks to be held tomorrow said discussions would be held on "issues related to gorkhaland," the ministry issued a "corrigendum" yesterday that said that the talks would be held on "issues related to Gorkhaland Tereritorial Administration" (GTA).
