The Finance Bill has notified that income-tax shall not be charged on the amount received by a taxpayer for medical treatment from employer or from any person for treatment of Covid-19 during FY 2019-20 and subsequent years.
The trial of Umifenovir on 132 Covid patients showed that, if the proper dose is given twice daily for five days, the drug can effectively reduce viral load to zero in mild or moderate symptomatic and asymptomatic patients

Ministry of Finance has informed the Delhi High Court that it is actively considering relaxation of the cap of Rs 2,00,000 on cash transactions for Covid treatment in hospitals.
“The clinical establishment would be entitled to charge a sum of Rs 50 only as ‘Covid Protection Charges’ that would include sanitiser, mask etc… each patient would be entitled to one companion only and in such case, the patient would be charged an additional amount of Rs 50… in case the consultant physician is in full PPE uniform… the clinical establishment would be entitled to a further amount of Rs 50,” an advisory stated.
According to him, the telephone numbers of drivers of Covid ambulances must be made public.
