Senior Ajit Pawar-led NCP leader and OBC face of the party, Chhagan Bhujbal, sworn in as a cabinet minister on May 20, has been allocated the Food & Civil Supplies ministry in the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra. The ministry was earlier headed by Dhananjay Munde, who was forced to resign a few months ago.
Maharashtra Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dattatray Bharne on Wednesday said it would be wrong to accuse his party colleague as well as Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dhananjay Munde of having anything to do with the murder of Massajog village sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.
Munde said that any individual responsible for the murder should be given the strictest punishment even if the latter turns out to be his close associate.
The committee would submit its report by January 25 to the Government.
