Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the scheme would operate during the 16th Finance Commission award period and continue till March 31, 2031.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs Wednesday approved the construction of a four-lane access-controlled National Highway-927 spanning 101.515 kilometers from Barabanki to Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, at a cost of Rs 6,969.04 crore.
This 31.42-km-long project corridor will provide direct and high-speed connectivity from South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram to Jewar International Airport, thereby promoting economic growth and logistics efficiency across the National Capital Region (NCR).
These projects include Sainthia–Pakur 4th line and Santragachi–Kharagpur 4th line. The total estimated cost of the projects is Rs 4,474 crore and will be completed up to 2030-31
Under the policy, a new CoalSETU window will be created within the existing Non-Regulated Sector (NRS) Coal Linkage Auction Policy, 2016, allowing coal linkages to be allocated through auctions on a long-term basis for any industrial use and export, without end-use restrictions.
The scheme aims to benefit 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries, with a total outlay of Rs 7,332 crore.
Currently, connectivity between Rameshwar and Tangi on the existing National Highway experiences significant congestion due to high traffic volumes, passing through highly urbanised cities Khordha, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack.
Kota, situated on the banks of the Chambal River, is recognised as the industrial capital of Rajasthan. In addition, Kota is renowned as the Educational Coaching Hub of India.
The projects, worth Rs 4,600 crore, will be set up in Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh, and are expected to generate employment for 2,034 skilled professionals.
In these 12 metro stations, seven are underground while five are elevated.
