The police have recovered 4 kg of heroin, Rs 3.90 lakh in drug money, and one .32 bore pistol along with a magazine and five live cartridges from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Sunday.
The arrested individual, identified as Mukund Madhav, a resident of Ramcharan Tola, Mokama (Patna), initially attempted to mislead investigators by claiming the money belonged to an IAS officer named Gaurav Kumar from Bargadwa, Gorakhpur.
During the session, agencies presented their preparedness and ongoing efforts to prevent the misuse of money and other inducements that could undermine the fairness of the elections.
According to the police, the accused—Bharat (22) and Hitesh (22), both residents of Mangolpuri, and Gautam (22) and Ashwani (22), residents of Rohini—were arrested.
