Addressing a delegation of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), led by Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal, at Vanijya Bhawan, the minister said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s trade ecosystem is undergoing a historic and rapid transformation.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has convened a one-day national traders conference on November 25 in New Delhi, bringing together prominent trade leaders from all states of the country.
According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the Chhath Puja this year is expected to generate trade worth approximately Rs 38,000 crore across India.
This marks a sharp rise of 22.58 per cent from last year’s Rs 31,000 crore and Rs 27,000 crore in 2023 -- reflecting the festival’s growing cultural and economic significance.
According to the CAIT, major markets across the country — particularly in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bhopal, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Patna, Indore, and Kanpur — witnessed huge crowds during the Bhai Dooj festival.
The confederation urged the government to examine the business module of such companies and ensure necessary action if required.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) came down heavily on the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for promoting e-commerce players to leverage district-specific products and their exports from the country.
The ongoing Diwali festival season is all set to bring cheers for the trading community of the country as it is expected that there will be a fresh infusion of about Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the markets by way of shopping and sale of goods and usage of services, said the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
The CAIT has once again re-continue its boycott of Chinese goods campaign in festive season. Every year 20 crore Ganesh idols worth 300 crore are purchased.
CAIT's Delhi Chapter President Vipin Ahuja in a letter sent to Puri, stated that Delhi is the largest commercial distribution center of the country from where goods are transported to other states.
