The proposed four-lane greenfield project is to improve connectivity between the State Capital Patna with Bettiah connecting the North Bihar Districts of Vaishali, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran and West Champaran up to the areas along the Indo-Nepal border.
The cabinet has approved the extension of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for upgrading existing government medical colleges, aiming to increase 5,023 MBBS seats.
The Union cabinet Wednesday approved the "Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana" for a period of six years, starting 2025-26.
The projects that will cover seven districts of Jharkhand, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh will add about 318 kms to the existing network of railways.
The project will be executed “at a total cost of Rs 22,864 crores,” Mr Vaishnav said in a presentation while addressing a press conference after the Cabinet meeting.
The programme would help in the comprehensive development of the villages located in the blocks abutting international land borders (ILBs), other than the Northern border already covered under VVP-I.
The ratification would provide India with better chances and opportunities to become more instrumental in matters pertaining to international civil aviation.
