The announcement was made by Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, during a press briefing.
He said the Commission will comprise one Chairperson, one Member (Part-Time), and one Member-Secretary.
The projects will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by approximately 894 km, enhancing connectivity to around 3,633 villages with a population of 85.84 lakh people.
The move is part of a larger plan to create 75,000 additional medical seats over the next five years, addressing the persistent gap between demand and supply in medical education.
As part of the decision, the Cabinet also cleared the signing of the Host Collaboration Agreement (HCA), along with guarantees from the relevant ministries, departments, and authorities.
