National telecom major BSNL launched much awaited 4G services in Bengal here today.
The package includes allotment of 4G/5G spectrum for the BSNL through equity infusion. The authorised capital of the company will be increased from Rs 1,50,000 crore to Rs 2,10,000 crore.
BSNL under ‘Vahan Suraksha’ model will develop, deploy, integrate and commission a vehicle location tracking software for tracking and monitoring of vehicles covered under the project.
The Government approved a revival plan for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) on 23.10.2019, the Minister said.
The GM has, in his official communication , conveyed to the Deputy General Managers of Bhawanipatna and Bolangir for closure of certain specific 4G sites and redeploy the equipment to Kandhamal district where it is to be spread over 27 sites on a pilot project basis.
The aim of these services is to provide wireless connectivity in the range of 20 km from the BSNL locations.
The move aims to push DoT to minimise Indian companies’ reliance on Chinese or any other foreign equipments.
