In recognition of the excellent performance by the railway staff, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) of 78 days for Rs 1865.68 crore to 10,91,146 railway employees
Railway and Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision which translates into a total financial outlay of Rs 2,028.57 crore and is aimed at providing a substantial boost to various categories of railway staff.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav distributed a bonus of Rs 115 crore for the year 2023 to 30 lakh tendu leaf collectors of the state, and performed bhoomi-pujan of development works worth Rs 37.67 crore in Sheopur district.
The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to eligible non-gazetted railway employees is Rs 7,000 per month. The 78-day pay packet is likely to be Rs 17,951 for an eligible railway employee.
The bonus will cost the government Rs. 2,024 crore.
