The central government on Wednesday made an announcement that the Indian Railways’ employees will get a 78-days bonus this year. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said in a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, bonus will benefit 11.52 lakh non-gazetted railway employees.
The bonus will cost the government Rs. 2,024 crore. This will mark sixth straight year in which the Railway staff will get a bonus, said Javadekar.
“For 11 lakh Railways’ employees, this govt has consistently for last 6 years, been giving record bonus, equivalent to the wage of 78 days. This year also, 11, 52,000 employees will get 78 days wage as bonus,” Union Minister said in a press conference.

“This is the reward for productivity,” Javadekar further said.
