’18 lakh vulnerable pensioners left in the lurch’: Naveen slams Odisha govt for three-month delay in pension

Stepping up his attack on the BJP-led Odisha government, Leader of the Opposition and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Friday accused it of failing the state's most vulnerable citizens over the non-disbursal of social security pensions to nearly 18 lakh beneficiaries for the last three months, and urged Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to ensure immediate release of the pending payments.

Bengal CEO office begins process of creating database of polling booths

In order to help the voters of West Bengal to have a first-hand and detailed information about the polling booths where they will be supposed to caste their voters in the crucial state assembly elections scheduled next year, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal has started the process of creating a virtual and compressive data base of such booths.
